Women’s Health
Confidential, personalised healthcare for women at every stage of life, including menopause care, preventive medicine and reproductive health.
Women’s Health at Knightsbridge Doctors
Our GPs provide confidential, personalised healthcare for women at every stage of adult life. A 30-minute private GP consultation gives time to discuss symptoms in detail, review your medical and family history and agree a plan for treatment, investigation or referral.
Women’s health concerns often overlap with general health, hormonal changes, family planning and preventive medicine. We take a whole-person approach rather than considering symptoms in isolation.
Perimenopause & Menopause
Perimenopause and menopause can cause a wide range of symptoms, including changes in periods, hot flushes, night sweats, disturbed sleep, mood changes, reduced concentration, vaginal symptoms and changes in sexual wellbeing.
Dr Cliona O’Connell is accredited by the British Menopause Society, specialising in the management of all aspects of perimenopause and menopause. Her approach includes a comprehensive assessment, from diagnosis through to personalised symptom management.
Individualised treatment can involve Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and/or a holistic approach tailored to your needs, with ongoing review and support through each stage of menopause care.
Periods & Hormonal Concerns
We can assess concerns including irregular periods, heavy or painful periods, changes in the menstrual cycle and premenstrual symptoms. Your consultation provides time to consider possible causes in the context of your age, medications, medical history and wider health.
Where clinically appropriate, your doctor can arrange blood tests, imaging or specialist gynaecology assessment.
Health Checks & Screening
Preventive care is an important part of women’s health. A consultation can include review of blood pressure, weight, cardiovascular risk, family history, lifestyle and screening relevant to your age and circumstances.
We can discuss cervical screening, breast awareness, bone health and osteoporosis risk, and arrange or refer for further assessment when clinically indicated.
Contraception, Fertility & Sexual Health
Our doctors provide confidential advice about contraception, sexual health and fertility concerns. We can also assess pelvic pain, vaginal symptoms, urinary symptoms and other concerns affecting reproductive or sexual wellbeing.
If specialist input is needed, we can coordinate referral to a gynaecologist, fertility specialist or other appropriate consultant through our established London network.
General Health & Wellbeing
Women’s health extends beyond reproductive and hormonal care. We regularly assess fatigue, sleep difficulties, headaches, digestive symptoms, skin concerns, anxiety, low mood and other general medical problems.
Your GP will consider these symptoms alongside your medications, lifestyle, family history and existing conditions, helping to coordinate investigations and specialist care where required.
