Men's Health
Confidential, personalised healthcare for men at every stage of life, with experienced GPs, on-site testing and access to our established specialist referral network.
Men's Health at Knightsbridge Doctors
Men's health needs change throughout life. Whether you have a specific concern, have noticed a change in your health, or simply want a comprehensive check-up, our experienced GPs provide a confidential and personalised service in the heart of Knightsbridge.
Our longer GP appointments allow time to discuss concerns properly, assess your general health and decide together whether any examinations, blood tests, imaging or specialist investigations are appropriate.
We look beyond an individual symptom. Where appropriate, your consultation can consider cardiovascular health, hormones, prostate health, sexual wellbeing, fertility, lifestyle and your longer-term risk factors.
If further investigation or specialist treatment is required, our extensive referral network enables us to arrange care with an appropriate consultant or hospital.
Men's Health Checks
You do not need to wait until something feels wrong to speak to a doctor. A regular health assessment can help identify risk factors and potential health problems at an earlier stage.
Your GP will tailor any assessment to your age, medical history, family history, symptoms and individual risk factors rather than applying the same set of tests to everyone.
- Blood pressure and cardiovascular risk
- Cholesterol and lipid profile
- Blood sugar and diabetes risk
- Weight, lifestyle and metabolic health
- Prostate and urinary symptoms where appropriate
- Hormonal health where clinically indicated
More comprehensive preventive assessments are also available through our Health Screening service.
Testosterone & Male Hormones
Changes in energy, mood, sexual function, muscle strength or general wellbeing can sometimes raise questions about testosterone or other hormones. These symptoms can have many possible causes, so a proper medical assessment is important.
Your GP can review your symptoms, medical history and any medications you are taking before deciding whether hormone testing is appropriate.
Testing in Context
A testosterone result should not be considered in isolation. Your doctor can interpret your results alongside your symptoms and overall health and advise whether further investigation is required.
Our laboratory services include both Testosterone Testing and a more comprehensive Male Hormone Profile.
Prostate & Urinary Health
Changes in urinary habits become more common as men get older, but they should not simply be ignored. Please speak to one of our doctors if you develop symptoms that concern you.
Your GP can assess your symptoms and discuss whether examination, urine testing, a PSA blood test or referral to a urologist is appropriate.
A PSA blood test can form part of an assessment of prostate health, but the result needs to be interpreted in context. Our doctors can discuss the potential benefits and limitations of PSA testing with you before arranging the test.
PSA testing is available through our private laboratory service.
Sexual Health & Erectile Dysfunction
Sexual health concerns are common and can be difficult to discuss. Our GPs provide a discreet and confidential environment in which you can talk openly about symptoms or concerns.
Erectile dysfunction, changes in libido and other sexual difficulties can have physical, hormonal, psychological or medication-related causes. They can also sometimes be associated with wider health issues.
A GP consultation allows us to consider the possible causes and determine whether blood tests, further investigation, treatment or specialist referral would be helpful.
If you are concerned about a sexually transmitted infection, we can also arrange appropriate testing through our private laboratory service.
Male Fertility
If you and your partner are having difficulty conceiving, or you have concerns about your fertility, your GP can provide an initial assessment and advise on appropriate investigations.
Assessment may include discussion of your general health, medical and reproductive history, medications and lifestyle factors. Depending on your circumstances, hormone tests or semen analysis may also be appropriate.
Where specialist fertility assessment is needed, we can refer you to an appropriate consultant or fertility service.
Our laboratory services also include a Male Fertility Test.
Weight, Lifestyle & Metabolic Health
Weight, physical activity, sleep, alcohol, smoking, stress and nutrition can all have an important influence on long-term health.
Our GPs can help identify areas where change may reduce your future health risks and work with you to develop a realistic plan.
For patients who would benefit from medical treatment for weight management, we also provide a dedicated doctor-led service with ongoing monitoring and support.
Book a Men’s Health Consultation
If you have a specific concern or would like a broader men’s health review, you can arrange a confidential private GP appointment. Your doctor can assess your symptoms, discuss appropriate testing and arrange specialist referral where needed. Please let us know when booking if you would prefer to see a female doctor.
Our standard GP appointments are 30 minutes long, giving you time to discuss your concerns without feeling rushed. Your doctor can arrange appropriate tests or investigations and coordinate specialist referral where required.
