The practice is open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5.30pm. Please be aware when choosing an appointment time that applicants should attend 30 minutes prior to the booked appointment time to complete necessary paperwork. (For instance an appointment at 3:00pm would mean arrival at 2.30pm). Please note, if you have an early appointment, you will not be allowed access into the building until 9:00am.
For visa medical appointments, please use our online BOOKING FORM and questionnaire. Please make sure you read all the information on this page before making your booking.
GROUP/FAMILY BOOKINGS: If you are booking for more than one person, please select a date with enough available appointments for each of you. You need to book one separate appointment for each person attending. Please try to book consecutive appointments (one-after-the-other) as far as possible. If you are unable to book these, please email our team for assistance at info@knightsbridge-doctors.com.
Please note all appointment prices include a non-refundable fee of £80.00. Additionally if the cancellation is within 48 hours of the booked appointment, 50 percent of the appointment fee but a minimum of £80.00 will be charged. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the paperwork / administration details are up to date and so the applicant is in a position to have the booked immigration medical examination. Applicants who attend and don't require an Immigration Medical Examination or cancel at short notice will be subject to the Practice cancellation policy.
All medicals are now processed electronically on eMedical.
Please understand what type of medical you are expected to have. If you do not know, please seek clarification from IRCC directly.
What is an Upfront Medical?
If you are expected by IRCC to have an Upfront you will not have been issued an IME number by IRCC. Instead, we will use your personal and passport details to create your IRCC medical file during your appointment and provide you with an Upfront Medical Information Sheet.
You must upload this information sheet to your IRCC application. It contains your Unique Medical Identifier (UMI), which allows IRCC to link your medical examination to your application. Your Upfront Medical must be submitted to IRCC within three months of your appointment.
Where do I find my IME number and what does it look like?
If IRCC has asked you to complete an immigration medical examination, your IME (Immigration Medical Examination) number will be included on the “Medical Report – Client Biodata and Summary (IMM 1017E)” or in your medical instructions letter. It is usually an 8-digit number and will be clearly labelled as an IME number and can be found near a bar-code.
Further information on the health requirements may be found on the Canadian Immigration & Citizenship website: www.cic.gc.ca.
For Female Applicants:
For Applicants Under 16 Years:
Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied with a parent. (If there is an issue with a parent attending, please contact the clinic directly before an appointment).
Upfront applicants (UFME) who have not yet applied for their visas only need to bring a valid passport.
As Canadian Immigration medicals are processed through the online eMedical system there is no need to bring photographs
For an individual adult, please allow 1.5 hours from arrival for your appointment. However, we recommend allowing 2 hours in case of unforseen delays.
The medical involves a physical examination, where the applicant will undress to underwear whilst wearing a gown.
If you require a chaperone during the medical examination, ideally please let us know in advance. You will need to undress down to your underclothes.
Applicants aged 11 years and above will require a chest X-ray.
Visa applicants aged 15 years and above will require blood tests for HIV and syphilis status and kidney function.
There is no need to fast for the blood tests.
Usually, the results take 3-4 working days to process and are then submitted to Immigration via their online eMedical system.
Please note all appointment prices include a non-refundable fee of £80.00.
